TYING INSTRUCTIONS
BLUE WINGED OLIVE PARACHUTE


MATERIALS

HOOK: Standard Dry Fly.
THREAD: 6/0 Prewaxed olive.
WING: Med. blue dun calf hair or section of turkey flats.
TAIL: Med. blue dun rooster hackle fibers.
BODY:
Olive dry fly dubbing.
HACKLE:
Med. blue dun rooster neck or saddle hackle.

 

NOTE:Many of the operations for the bwo parachute are similar to techniques used in the Light Cahill. The wing is a single bundle of calf hair or turkey flats instead of two split bundles of wood duck and the hackle is wrapped around the wing rather than the hook shank. However, the wing material is tied to the shank in the same manner. The sequence of operations: wing, tail, dub body then wrap hackle are the same and listed below with illustrations.
